I enjoy mixing craft techniques with a contemporary industrial design approach. My projects aim to create unusual and playful forms that generate curiosity, calling out for someone to play and interact with them: they are never apologetic. My development is very hands on and often impulsive. My favourite projects are those that allow me to follow my instincts and be decisive.
Sustainability is always an underlying factor in my practice. I believe there should not be such a thing as a Sustainable Designer, just a Designer; we should all have it engrained in our work not just as a topical add on. We do not need to fill this world up with more pointless crap. This means that I am constantly evaluating whether what I am creating is design for designs sake or is in fact improving the now, be that by inducing a smile or having a greater function.
I am interested in creating objects and spaces, design art and industrial products. I do not feel the need or want to define what sort of designer I am, the work I do is defined by the organic journey the project has taken.
