I have a thoughtful approach to design and often create objects that are subtle in their function and conceptionally strong. My recent projects have included tableware and small-scale products drawing inspiration from a multitude of art and design disciplines including graphics and spatial design. Materials and the origins of them hold central roles in the development of my work, as I see the tactile relationship between end product and consumer as important as where and how it was produced. I often wonder about the notion of “too much stuff” and the impact this is having on today’s consumers. As a result, I try to scrutinise the purpose and role my products have, and seek to design products that are altogether purposeful, utilitarian and quietly smart.
